Please reach us at info@insightspsych.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We offer therapy sessions during the daytime and evenings Monday through Friday, with some availability on the weekends.
During the first two sessions, your clinician will need to gather information and gain a better understanding of what is bringing you to therapy and what you would like to work on. Your clinician will check in with you about how you feel the therapy sessions are going and if there are times you are not feeling heard or understood, we encourage you to let your clinician know so that this can be worked through. If you are not feeling fully comfortable with the clinician you have been matched with, tell your clinician and he/she/they will have our administrator contact you to get you paired with someone else who is a better fit.
It depends on the individual's or couple's needs and situation. Therapy will begin weekly for 55 minutes for individual sessions and 90 minutes for couple therapy sessions and will continue for at least three months. You and your clinician will discuss how you feel you are progressing throughout the treatment. It is not uncommon for clients to be in therapy for years.
At Insights Psychological Services, we use a relational framework while integrating other therapy techniques. In other words, we focus on the relationship between client and therapist as being a part of the therapy treatment while targeting symptoms with other therapy techniques. Having a relational approach can be helpful when clients have experienced relational trauma, difficult childhoods, or having had issues with past relationships.
When therapists use Cognitive Behavioral therapies, the focus is on a person's thought patterns and their internal dialogue. Dialectical Behavioral therapy is utilized best for clients who struggle with all or nothing thinking, and emotion dysregulation. There are other therapies that hone in on parts of the self, reflecting on what has worked in the past, and so forth. It is most common nowadays for therapists to incorporate techniques from many different therapies to tailor to the needs of their clients.
We accept several major commercial insurances. Aetna, BCBS, Optum, and Point 32 (Tufts and Harvard Pilgrim). We also accept insurance plans that have Out of Network Benefits.
You will be charged the full session fee, but you will receive a superbill (or a receipt) through SimplePractice. Our billing team will be able to help you during this process. Typically insurance plans will provide 50% to 80% reimbursement.
