Psychology Training Program: Advanced Practicum

Master's and Doctorate level psychotherapists.

Our training program is for advanced practicum doctoral students (year 3 or year 4) who have obtained their master's degree in clinical, counseling, or a related field.

We are looking for talented and experienced relational therapists.

We are looking for students or recent graduates who have experience working with transitional youth and/or adults for at least 1-year, preferably 2+ years and experience providing therapy via telehealth.

Seeking to work with a professional, mental health team.

Please apply if you are relationally or dynamically oriented with your approach to psychotherapy and you are interested in learning about psychoanalytic/psychodynamic theory.

It is paramount that trainees and clients feel psychologically safe. At Insights Psychological Services, having a relational work environment and culture is imperative to us. We will strive to make sure you are supported in the work that you do.

Training Program Structure

2025-2026 academic training year begins August 18th, 2025 and ends July 1, 2026.

~24 hours per week for 10.5 months.

Staff meeting, group supervision, and seminars/workshops are held every Wednesday.

There will be a weekly 1-hour didactic on psychodynamic therapy and theory.

Guest speakers will present throughout the year on pertinent topics (e.g., trauma, grief, sex therap

Process-oriented supervision will be held for 1-hour 2x/week.

Trainees will learn how to do case conceptualization/formulations using different theories.

Specific Trainings

Introductions on how to use CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness-self compassion, and other therapies.

Trainings will also cover how to help clients who struggle with substance misuse, trauma, and grief.

How to specifically help college students, e.g., nutrition, CBT-I, ADHD, and organizational skills.

Learn about couple therapy and approaches, such as EFT and Gottman.

Behavioral medicine techniques, such as autogenic training.

Mindfulness meditation, diaphragmatic breathing, grounding techniques, and visualization.

A series on Nancy McWilliam's psychoanalytic diagnosis and interventions.

Supplemental reading materials will be provided, i.e., books and articles.
