If we do not take your insurance plan directly, but you have out of network benefits, our biller can help you with the process of submitting claims to your insurance company.
Session Fees:
Initial Evaluation *$225
55-minute Sessions *$200
We use a hybrid model with using insurance and self-pay. The session fee would cost your copay plus $125.
Out of Pocket:
Initial Evaluation (Three sessions at *$225 each)
90-minute sessions *$250
Occasionally, your clinician and outside provider(s) may wish to have peer to peer consultation to ensure quality of treatment. Should this happen we reserve the right to bill out of pocket, with your consent. Consultations that are longer than 15 minutes, are billed at a prorated amount based on our session fees. *
Payments are made via Stripe, a credit card processing company, through the electronic health record we use, Simple Practice. Once you have received access to your client portal in Simple Practice, you can add a debit/credit, FSA, or HSA card information to your online chart under the "Billing Tab." We will charge you the session fee or your co-pay (depending on if you pay out of pocket or use insurance) after each session.
We ask that our clients cancel their appointment 24 hours in advance in order to allow their clinician the time to rearrange their schedule. If a client cancels less than 24-hours in advance to their scheduled appointment, (including due to illness or emergency), this is considered a late cancelation. If a client is not in the state of Massachusetts at the time of their session, this is also considered a late cancelation. A late cancelation fee is equivalent to our session fees (e.g., an individual appointment is $200). There are two main reasons for having this policy. 1) We have committed a one-hour block of time to meet with you each week and it is important that our clients have the same level of commitment. 2) Role-modeling having boundaries for us is important not only to protect ourselves from burn out, but to live by what we preach.
What is the no surprises act and a good faith estimate?
If you don’t have health insurance or you plan to pay for health care bills yourself, generally, health care providers and facilities must give you an estimate of expected charges when you schedule an appointment for a health care service, or if you ask for an estimate. This is called a “good faith estimate.” A good faith estimate isn’t a bill. The good faith estimate shows the list of expected charges for services from your provider or facility. Because the good faith estimate is based on information known at the time your provider or facility creates the estimate, it won’t include any unknown or unexpected costs that may be added during your treatment.
Insights Psychological Services will include expected charges for:
• The primary service and any other services you’re reasonably expected to get as part of the primary service for that period of care.
The estimate might not include every service you get from another provider or facility, even if some services may seem connected to the same service. You’ll get a separate good faith estimate when you schedule those services with the provider or facility, or if you ask for it.
Your right to a good faith estimate
Providers and facilities must give you the good faith estimate:
• After you schedule a health care service.
If you schedule an item or service at least three business days before the date you’ll get the item or service, our facility will provide you a good faith estimate no later than 1 business day after scheduling.
If you schedule the service OR ask for cost information about it at least 10 business days before the date you get the service, Insights Psychological Services will provide you a good faith estimate no later than 3 business days after you schedule or ask for the estimate.
• That includes a list of each service (with the provider or facility), and specific details, like the health care service code.
• In a way that’s accessible to you, like in large print, Braille, audio files, or other forms of communication.
An Insights Psychological Services staff will also explain the good faith estimate to you over the phone or in person if you ask, then follow up with a written (paper or electronic) estimate, per your preferred form of communication.
Keep the estimate in a safe place so you can compare it to any bills you get later. After you get a bill for the items or services, if the billed amount is $400 or more above the good faith estimate, you may be eligible to dispute the bill.
