Emma earned her master’s degree in professional psychology from William James College in Newton, MA, where she is currently pursuing her doctorate in Clinical Psychology and will be working under the supervision of Dr. O'Hearn from August 2025 to July 2026. She has trained in a variety of clinical settings, including partial hospitalization programs, community mental health centers, and private practices. These diverse experiences have shaped her appreciation for the complexity and uniqueness of each client’s journey.
Emma approaches therapy through a primarily psychodynamic and humanistic lens. She believes that while past experiences influence who we are, it is our values, goals, and aspirations that guide who we are becoming. Her work emphasizes the dynamic interplay between insight into the past and intention for the future. With this foundation, she integrates evidence-based treatments (e.g. CBT, DBT, ACT) to develop an individualized and responsive treatment plan for each client.
Emma has a passion for working with individuals and couples and enjoys supporting clients navigating issues of identity, human sexuality, mood and anxiety disorders, and other mental health diagnoses. She holds a special interest in the complexities of identity, intimacy, sexual dysfunction, erotic diversity, and non-traditional relationship structures. Emma offers a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space for clients exploring all aspects of identity, creating room for curiosity, healing, and self-discovery. She brings warmth, authenticity, and deep curiosity to the therapeutic space, aiming to help clients feel both seen and empowered as they move toward growth and healing.
